Digital Marketing Consultant | Paid Media
A bit about your role
I work in Fountain’s Paid Media department, managing and constantly optimising client campaigns to achieve their business goals.
Where did you work/study previously and how did it help you arrive at Fountain?
My work background is deeply rooted in the hospitality industry, and it was just over 7 years ago when I decided to make better use of my Marketing degree, and haven’t looked back ever since. I stepped over the digital threshold with in- house roles that involved primarily PPC, SEO, some CRO, copywriting, and building landing pages, so I got the opportunity to sink my teeth into various disciplines. But when the time came to look for something more exciting and fulfilling, I knew I could only find it in an agency. That’s when I came across Fountain.
What is it about Digital Marketing that you find interesting?
My love for the written word is what initially drove me to university. I always saw the messaging of adverts as a kind of art: you can say more with less. The right words and their right combination is a formula that needs cracking, and that is, weirdly or not, immensely appealing to me. The digital aspect, with the various platforms, the metrics, the channels, the mediums, just adds another level of satisfying complexity, which suits my analytical mind just fine.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Hitting clients’ targets helps me sleep at night. Above all, I take pride in working with some fantastic people.
What do you like doing when not at work?
I spend an inordinate amount of time in the garage customising my motorcycle, gardening, or getting frustrated over some DIY project. If all else fails, I can be found in my study, writing my next science fiction novel or going through a very long list of books I keep on accumulating.
