1) Briefly describe your role
I work on improving the organic rankings of our lovely SEO clients. My specialisms include onsite and technical SEO.
2) What is your professional or academic background and how did it help you arrive at Fountain?
I have worked in digital marketing for just over 10 years now, and have specialised in SEO since the beginning! I try to keep a commercial head on when planning campaigns and target the keywords most likely to increase profits.
I have worked both in-house and in agency environments. I like aspects from both, but what interested me about Fountain is their commercial approach to digital marketing, this isn’t something many agencies get right.
3) What is it about Digital Marketing that you find most interesting?
I like the change – the challenge of change, I suppose! Every time Google’s search algorithm gets updated, I get a little excited because it means there’s more for me to learn. SEO never sits still, and I like that – it’s changed so much in the last 10 years, I can’t wait to see what the next 10 bring us.
4) What do you enjoy most about your role OR What problem are you best at solving for your clients?
I am probably best at technical SEO work. I am a strange human, I love getting stuck into a spreadsheet to find the right solutions to technical problems. I love it when the time and effort we all put in (client included) comes to fruition and traffic and conversions increase. That’s the best thing.
5) What do you like doing when not at work?
I have a three-year-old, so spare time is at a premium! I love hanging out with my son – taking him out to see and do things. The world is so new for him, it’s a joy to experience it with him. I’ve recently acquired an allotment, and am hoping for a bumper harvest of fruits and veggies soon!
