Nick is a SEO Digital Marketing Consultant. He describes Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) as the science (some would say art) of helping websites rank higher on organic search – and consults on it (digitally!).
Nick has considerable experience across a whole host of marketing and non-marketing sectors and roles throughout his career. From project managing augmented reality healthcare applications to working on huge international multilingual websites and SEO projects, he has seen pretty much everything within digital marketing.
With a fascination in human behaviour patterns through the data available, Nick loves learning more! How quickly people will move on if frustrated by a website, why specific words work with people and why some don’t, what visual cues they use to find what they want to find, wondering why someone has made a bot to spam your analytics. It’s all there.
The challenge of tactically trying to out-manoeuvre something that is essentially blackboxed (search algorithms, etc.), then seeing the thing he has done – works – is immensely satisfying. .
When not at work, and if trying to impress people at a party Nick likes to read literature, write creatively (he has a degree in creative writing), swim, watch history documentaries and play the guitar. However, while those are things he does actually do from time-to-time, it’s far more likely he will be sitting on the sofa playing video games or watching sports of some sort. Nick supports Norwich City, but whether he likes doing that or not is a different question.
